The Show Must Go On

If you’ve been watching my gallery and/or Facebook page, you’ll know I’m up to my eyeballs in EAA photos, but I thought this one was interesting because there are a couple of stories wrapped up here. The plane you see flying is a Twin Beech 18 piloted my Matt Younkin. If you do any reading on Matt, you’ll see that he and his family have experienced no small amount of hardship and loss connected with their aviation history, but he’s still up there putting on a great show.

Directly beneath him, however, you can also see the F-16 of Alabama National Guard pilot Jason Patten, which ran off the runway on Thursday, and was still being reviewed by US Air Force personnel on Friday.
