Earlier this year, my son’s Scout troop helped out at a water station for a half-marathon. There were a lot of racers, so we had quite a few kids helping out. This was one of the first racers through, and all the kids were reaching out eagerly to offer a drink. Within about three minutes of taking this shot, the station was absolution inundated in runners, so there was really no one-on-one contact like this. I really like the isolation on the runner, blurring out all the volunteers, and the look on his face (he looks like he’s ready for a drink!). I think it sort of gives the impression that all those kids are there just for him.
